How much should I open the bromine floater in my small hot tub?
Q. I have a small 2-3 seater , roughly 700 gallons hot tub that I just put in and filled. All my chemicals tested okay except the chlorine. I am going to fill up the bromine floater and put it in the hot tub but how much do I open it? How long will it take to chlorinate the hot tub so we can go in?

A. Start out with the lowest setting and then check it with a tester every couple hours to see the change increase or decrease it slightly if not the correct levels. Be sure to drain it at least once or twice a month to clean and refresh the water. You can get away with just draining half way down if its not to dirty. Good Luck!

Got a hot tub through freecycle. It has a ozone generator. Do I also need chlorine and or bromine?
Q. Original equipment has chlorine/bromine dispenser built into the filter canister cap which I believe is an upgrade from the original cap. It has taken me nearly two months to get it operational, as it had frozen, and we would like to start enjoying it. thanx

A. If the ozone generator is working correctly you won't need chlorine. Just check the water and keep it balanced.

I need reagents for the following elements: lead, manganese, bromine, zinc, copper?
Q. I'm doing an experiment where I can testing a bunch of different water samples for over 15 elements, and I've figured out reagents for all of the other elements, but I still need to figure out the reagents for lead, manganese, bromine, zinc and copper to be able to continue. Thank you!
